Acupuncture

Could your pet benefit from natural pain relief?

At Creature Comforts Animal Hospital, we strive to offer you as many options as possible to keep your loved one happy and healthy. That’s why we’re so pleased to include veterinary acupuncture as one of our alternative therapy services. Acupuncture is an excellent tool for helping companion animals enjoy more comfortable lives. Best of all, it’s all natural so there’s no risk of harmful side effects that pharmaceuticals can cause. This makes it particularly favorable for elderly pets or those who cannot tolerate medication.

What is veterinary acupuncture?

The ancient practice of acupuncture operates under the theory that when the body’s natural energy source becomes disrupted, sickness and pain can occur. To address these ailments without the need for medication, acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points along the body. Once inserted, the needles cause a cellular response in the targeted area. This restores the body’s energy, thereby promoting healing and reducing pain.

What conditions can be treated through acupuncture?

Veterinary acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of health problems in companion animals. It can also be used to boost the immune system and promote ongoing wellness. Some of the conditions commonly treated with acupuncture include, but are not limited to:

  • Arthritis
  • Back Pain
  • Joint Problems
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Hip Dysplasia
  • Respiratory Problems
  • Digestive Issues
  • Neurological Conditions
  • Senior Pet Health

How many treatments will my pet need?

The results of veterinary acupuncture can sometimes be seen after only a few sessions. Every pet is different, however. The specific condition, its severity and a number of other unique factors will help our doctors determine how many acupuncture treatments will be needed. Once your pet has been evaluated, we will provide you with an individualized treatment recommendation that is specific to his or her needs.
If your animal family member is struggling with pain or mobility issues or could just use a little more balance, acupuncture may be the ideal solution. Give us a call today to learn more or to schedule an initial consultation.

I can't say enough good things about this facility. My fur face absolutely loves boarding here. I have a house full of "exotics". Dr Gorman is one of the best in the city for rat care. The ladies at the front desk are great and are very empathetic when it is time to help our loved ones over the rainbow bridge.

Dr. Paul is my favorite! She performed two surgeries on me, saw me at minimum of once a month during my puppy years (hey, it doesn't have to edible for me to consume it) and was very compassionate and concerned with pain management.

Dr. Paul understood my breed (min-pin) and explained in depth how my personality is a factor in my unhealthy habits (like eating princess rings, rubber bands, whoopee cushions). She made sure, in spite of my tenacious breed that I was able to "just rest."

She has always gone above and beyond explaining the options available and making sure the best possible solution was opted for, both cost effectively and health wise.

Came in as a walk in and they were pretty quick to get to Stout. He is in for X-rays now and maybe bloodwork. They asked what my favorite candy bar was and I put all! The front desk girl brought a variety 😀👉🏻.

One of the best things we've ever found in Las Vegas since we moved here!! Staff is wonderful. Our dog loves to stay there. She can't wait to go in the back. She is a cancer survivor and they were instrumental in getting her the best care. Highly recommend them.

We've had the best care at Creature Comforts for 14 years. Even having to board once for a funeral which we hated to do. The staff had Ginger at the front counter most days instead of in the cage. So kind and professional. Their compassion upon her death touched me to the core. Our new little rescue, Maggie, is receiving the same wonderful care. Thanks to all the staff for their terrific care.
